Admission requirements

Application process

This track is restricted to students from Grande École, namely students selected to the Pre-Master from the entrance exam-scientific option, and AST(I) students coming from scientific training.

For Pre-Master students interested in this track, we expect or strongly recommend them to take the ‘Parcours Scientifique’ or ‘Double-Diplôme’ (Centrale or ENSAE) during the Pre-master year.

The application is done online (possible to do it at the beginning of each term); you can apply during your pre-master or master (the earlier, the better). It must be before the last academic year at ESSECat pre-master or master level (the earliest, the best) for a pre-selection, followed by a meeting between the applicant and the track coordinator.

It is also required to submit (to the Head of the risk and actuarial track):

The ultimate selection will be done before entering ISUP (by email), the last step of this selection being done from the average of the grades obtained in the 4 courses:

IDSD31375 Quantitative Risk Management – Application in Finance

IDSM31183 Financial Mathematics: Probability in Finance

IDSS31267     Financial Econometrics

IDSS32102    Scalable Data Algorithms

Note that for each quantitative course, a grade above 12/20 is required.

A document on the actuarial track is also available at the assistants office of the IDS department (N321) and on the website: crear.essec.edu/risk-actuarial-track

Further information can be asked to members of the ESSEC Association of Actuaries and Analysts on Risk (E3AR).
